Rudolf van Dommele
BIO
Born and Raised in the Netherlands Rudolf graduated from the "Academie voor Fotorgafie en Fotonica" in The Hague. After a brief stint as a press photographer he moved to Paris as a print maker and assistant for William Klein and later as an assistant to Sacha van Dorssen, traveling the world on assignment for international fashion magazines. Moving accross the Atlantic Rudolf witnessed up close the fashion scene in New York, working as an assistant to such luminaries as Bruce Weber, Annie Leibovitz, Mario Testino and Steven Meisel. After these formative years he established his own studio in New York in the late eighties with assignments from Conde Nast and Hearst magazines and a number of editorial and commercial clients. He now lives in Cold Spring, working alternately as a photographer, film maker, chess-coach and lumberjack.
